Paper Doll Nursery

I had the pleasure of putting together an {Inspiration Board} for a lovely lady who was looking to set up her little girl's nursery. She had seen some of the other rooms I had put together [here] and wanted me to do something similar for her. Um yes please!
She wanted something pretty, feminine but not owls, birds or princess! A Paper Doll theme immediately sprung to mind, inspired by the amazing pattern botique Oliver + S. Even if you are not a sewer, do yourself a favour and head over and check out their beautiful site and creations [here].
Here is my {Inspiration Board} for the Paper Doll theme, complete with links where to but all of the goodies listed below. I always include Porter’s Paint colours in the boards to help clients with colour choices for the walls and other features in the room. Check out their amazing range (and paint names too!)[here].

Practicing Handwriting

With all the back to school excitement, the kids are right into the idea of homework (well, this week anyway!) so I'm embracing this enthusiasm and have been searching for some cool websites with worksheets that will suit both of their ages (5 and just about 4).

This site proved to be fabulous! You can enter the text you want and it makes your words into tracing dashes, puts them on writing lines and also includes starting point dots. It's brilliant and there are lots of variables you can play around with like single words, sentences, sizes, cursive fonts and prompt arrows.

and Ned asked me to type in "Fred is a lovely cat"

It certainly made for a cool activity that they loved, and asked to do again tonight.

I promise my next post will be nothing to do with education, and be far more pretty to look at :)

"Twas the night before school started, when all over town, parents were cheering...It was a riotous sound!!!!, by 8 the kids were washed and tucked into bed..... where memories of homework filled them with dread!!!! New pencils, New folders, New notebooks too!!! New teachers, New friends, their anxiety grew!!! The parents just giggled when they learnt of this fright and shouted down the hallway, go to bed it is a school night!!"
I did have a chuckle at this doing the rounds tonight. I will miss Ned terribly (and Molly with be completely lost without him around), but Ned is excited about returning to school tomorrow and thats the best part.

Another thing doing the rounds tonight on Pinterest, is the "Back To School Interview" questions. A lot of the links I found were for paid files, so I thought I'd ask a couple of the mums out there what they would like to ask their child on the eve of returning to school, and make one up myself. I also wanted to accommodate a photo, and I will do this interview at the start of each school year (until they will let me lol). I think it will be a hoot to look back on in years to come.

Well 28 days into the new year and I am finally getting to my new year's resolution of reigniting my poor poor blog. I missed her. I missed sharing ideas with people. I missed rambling.

I guess the fact that my tardiness is due to getting back on track after a super busy end to last year, means things are a good busy. Already this year promises many new products, new party themes, new inspiring customers and hopefully a new exciting venture.

In the lead up to Christmas I offered some free printable 'Reindeer Feed' bag toppers and instructions (here), and after emailing out over 100 copies to customers, I was so happy to hear that they bought so much happiness to so many families. The many messages of thanks I received were so lovely, and were what spurred me on to get back on the blogging bandwagon (that coupled with the fact I can now blog from my phone in the car, doing a middle of the night feed or while making dinner, sure does help when you don't have to be in front of the computer!).

Many of you said that my projects and posts inspire you to try new things and give new recipes, craft ideas and party ideas a go. I love and live DIY, and am throwing myself into up-cycling at the moment. Thats a whole other post though.

SO... with a busy couple of weeks ahead (3 parties this weekend, butterfly/garden party next weekend, balloon party the weekend after that, then Molly's 4th party to organise and then a couple of weeks later Archie's 1st birthday to get my head around) I am kicking of this exciting time with the {Inspiration Board} for the butterfly/garden party next weekend.

Its a 1st birthday to be held in a park, with lots of kids of all ages and a pretty fun theme to work with!

DIY elements of the Pony Party

Following on from my post about the Pony Party yesterday, I thought I would follow up today with some of the DIY elements of the day. I had lots of fun playing around with the beautiful fabrics I found and different things form all over the world (thanks to my best mate etsy :) ).

The fabric backdrop turned into a labour of love, cutting fabric strips and tying them onto a piece of dowel. Very simple and very effective. I really loved how it turned out and now want to hang it in Molly's room!

To match the fabric backdrop I also made a 'scrap' wreath for the front door...

To further tie in with the fabric backdrop I made some cake bunting out of just one of the fabrics to adorn the cake...

Finally I covered a 'M' with the same fabric as the bunting to add a personalised touch to the table. Again this is heading straight to her room!

To personalise the hobby horse party favours, I ordered some initial badges from etsy and attached them to some rosettes I made out of scrap fabric, lace and buttons...

The Happy 3rd Birthday sign hanging from the dessert table was another easy DIY using doilies (soon available to buy at Little Spunky Monkey) and printed card, pegged onto jupe with mini clothes pegs...

I had sooo much fun making all of these little elements for the party and am so happy that they all tied in together so well. So many of them can be used as either decoration around our home or in Molly's bedroom.

I hope I have inspired some of you to have a go at making similar pieces for your upcoming parties- please do not hesitate to contact me for any further informatio on any of the above mentioned ideas.

Sorry its been so long...

... since I posted- its hard trying to keep up with blogging, facebooking, madeiting, websiting and, well, living! I have 5 weeks to go until out 3rd baby is due so it has been all a crazy couple of weeks (with more to come I am SURE!).

We have just had a party extravaganza weekend with Molly's 3rd birthday on the Saturday and then her party on the Sunday. Molly has been talking about having a pony party since Ned's party back in July last year. She never swayed from the theme in that time, so collecting little bits and pieces for the party has been going on for months!

I wanted to create a vintage/cowgirl-feel to the desesrt table and selected foods that fit the theme.

They included rustic apple and rhubarb and pear pies...

... peanut butter cups (Molly is peanut butter MAD!)...

I cheated on the ginger kisses and donuts and bought them...

the chocolate bars were wrapped in printables from the Hobby Horse Party Printable Pack (available soon)...

... the sultana and oat cookies were fun to make with the kids and tasted great too...

The scrumptions cupcakes were from Lulu's Cupcakes- they always look too good to eat!!! (but taste delicious :) )

Alexis matched the colours in my fabric choices perfectly- I was so happy with them.

Then there was the cake!!! Mum baked the 3 layered cake for me and dad lovingly iced it- they kind of work in a tag-team and are the unofficial birthday cake makers in the family! We gave Molly the horse figurine for her birthday and I made the bunting on top- overall I was so terribly happy with it- exactly like what Molly and I wanted :)

Overall I was deleriously happy with how it all turned out- could not be happier.
Tomorrow I will do a post on all of the DIY elements to the party - so easy and so effective.

Step 1: the are in!

Ok so the bedroom Relocation Relocatio is going well in a practical sense- the kids are loving it and are sleeping perfectly. There is lots of cahher upon going to bed, but it dies down soon enough and they are asleep in not too much time at all.
Here is a pic of the 2 beds in together- the space works really well and the room still seems big and bright and airy...

There is still all of Molly's wall decorations so they are next to go, and then trying to work with the many decorating ideas that I have in my head and savd in my favourites.

So step one is complete, with step 2 being de-girlifying the bedroom and working on the Nursery (which has become the dumping ground for all of the left over things from the kids bedrooms that now dont fit- wont show you that picture!).

Of course it can be done- a boy and a girl sharing a bedroom. But with a mother that has to have every room designed to the very last inch of its life?

And the only reason I want them to share is so I can have a nursery for a baby that wont even sleep in it, but I can then decorate it. AND as we dont know the gender, I can decorate a pre-baby neutral room, and then have a boy and a girl deisgn waiting int he wings to be fully put into action as soon as we arive home from hospital :)

So come with me on this journey of 4 rooms in total to decorate, the hardest one being that of Ned and Molly's shared room. Masking tape down the middle anyone?

Last minute gift

A "Cookie in a Jar" is all of the dry ingredients for Christmas Cookies that all you have to add is an egg, butter and vanilla. Roll them out and bake. So simple!

SUCH an asesome looking gift that tastes great too!

Gingerbread Advent Calendar

If you need an excuse to eat a gingerbread biscuit every day of December, then you need a GINGERBREAD ADVENT CALENDAR!

We had so much fun making these- yes there is a lot to make, but that means there is a lot to eat :)
I simply cut out number chapes from the mixture and baked them, then when they first came out of the oven I made a small hole at the top of each one with the blunt end of a skewar.

I then strung them up along the Christmas garland that I have hanging from the fireplace and thats it!

We have one each day which is much more fun when you reach double didgits as there is a biscuit for each of the kids :)

Here is the recipe...
Ingredients:

340g (12 oz) flour
115g (4 oz) butter
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1 beaten egg
4 tablespoons of golden syrup
175g (6 oz) soft brown sugar (I use dark brown sugar here)
Method:
Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup over low heat.
Sift the flour, ginger and bicarb soda into a bowl. Add the syrup mixture and the beaten egg.
Mix everything together and then knead it into a ball.
Chill the dough in a plastic bag in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven at 190c / 375f / Gas mark 5.
Grease baking trays (I just use baking paper).
Sprinkle flour on bench top and rolling pin and roll out dough to a thickness of 1/2 cm (1/4 inch).
Cut out shapes and place on a baking tray. Decorate with currants and then bake for 10-15 mins until they are golden brown. Lift them onto a wire rack to cool.

Molly's pony party...

... is not until March NEXT YEAR but she talks about it daily, often a couple of times a day! Not helped with her current obsession with all things horse related. So when I saw that Ikea had some horse-shaped cake tins I was in like Flinn. We had a ball this afternoon wearing our Little Spunky Monkey christmas aprons for the first time as well as baking not one but TWO pony cakes- yes it is a horse and her foal set ha ha ha...

So I think we are stuck with the strawberry flavoured pony cake with pink icing for Molly's pony party (yes, she has even picked out her cake flavour and icing colour). Watch this space...

Molly is OBSESSED with all things horses at the moment and is permanently attached to her hobby horse at home.
I have been thinking about for ages getting her a new one for Christmas and today spurred me on, being Melbourne Cup and all of that!
I have been eyeing off the Calamity Bold horses for months- they are just the most divine horses ever. The fabrics used are delightful...

I haven’t blogged in so long you probably thought I fell off the face of the earth.
Quite the contrary actually! I have been so flat out that I havent had time to blog nearly as much as I should (or like to).
I am hoping to ramp it up leading up to Christmas and might even...ghasp...send out an email newsletter. Its only been, oh, 12 months since the last one!!!

This Saturday I have the Mathilda's Markets coming up- new location so should be exciting!

Then in 2 weeks Time I have the all new Lollipop Markets

The AFL Grand Final is this weekend and there are a few Saint Kilda crazy members in this family so to help celebrate the big day on Saturday I have created some FREE {Printable Cupcake Toppers} to help set the mood.

Its time for another playroom clean-out/tidy up/general re-arrange.

The last one was back in January (here) and the tub labels were so successful that I am doing them again with the addition of a tub each for the kids for all of the random toys that dont belong anywhere else (and I have caved and now even have a "barbie" tub- kind of unavoidable with a 2 1/2 year old in the house!)

With Molly toilet training, we have L O T S of used toilet rolls in our recycling box (just today, a whole roll went down the toilet in one flush). So with 2 bored kids and finally some sunshine outside, I decided what better way to use them up than make binoculars out of them!
So easy and they were great fun to use afterwards as well...

The items you will need (this was enough for 2 pairs)

Hold 2 rolls together and join with sticky tape...

Colour to your heart's content...

Make sure they work...

Now lets go find those wascally wabbits...

Ned's Dinosaur Party- part 1

Yesterday was finally the day of Ned's 4th Birthday Party- the dinosaur party.

We had a small gathering for lunch and cooked up a storm.

The birthday boy had a blast of a day and just loved his cake!

The highlight of the day I think was the dinosaur treasure hunt. I made up a treasure hunt for the backyard which was given to the kids in a bucket (which doubled as favours for the parties, along with all of the goodies they collected).

We kicked it off with making dinosaur tales first- these were a hit and all the ages there could do it.

Then the hunt was on! The kids collected tools for their dinosaur dig (spades, rakes), ediable dinosaur eggs (kinder suprises), dino chalk, real dinosaur eggs...

... finishing up in the sand pit for a dinosaur dig!

The food highlight of the day was certainly the dessert table- I will post more about this in detail in a new post...

A little ray of sunshine...

I was so excited to be doing some work for the gorgeous Miss J as she is one stylish girl! (I still remember her beautiful wedding).

When her daughter was having a combined christening and 1st birthday I jumped at the chance to do her invitations for the shared celebrations. The theme of the party was yellow and it is now one of my favourite colour schemes!

The invitation design was adapted for cupcake toppers and thank you tags and together with the amazing dessert table, the theme was really strong and flowed right through to the birthday girl's beautiful outfit.

Miss J did all of the putting together of the elements of the party, and is a natural DIYer. Here are some photos from the celebrations- enjoy.

A hilarious blow-by-blow account of trying to keep on top of the everyday mess of a house inhabited by two gorgeous and gregarious girls...

I like things to be tidy, I'd love them to be clean as well but I mostly settle for tidy as a minimum! Before I sit down I have to pack the toys away in the lounge -I can't relax until it's all in it's place. I feel like I am endlessly tidying up, moving from one ungodly mess to another. I never let it get the better of me though, I just do a lot of sighing and exclaiming about having to constantly tidy.

If you dropped in without notice, this is the view you would be confronted with on most days: a couple of overflowing baskets of clean washing that have managed to migrate to the lounge, awaiting sorting. Spread across the lounge room floor is an assortment of puzzle pieces, felt dolls, dinosaurs and plastic food. Mixed in with this might be mashed banana, biscuit crumbs and usually an upturned sippy cup of milk seeping into the rug.

Moving into the kitchen...every cup, dish, pot and pan is on the sink and the kitchen table is covered in an assortment of drawings, glitter-encrusted pieces of bark, junk mail and hairclips. The chairs have a furry cushion of fluff under each leg, some stray bits of broccoli are wedged under the portable high-chair and Lola's edge of the table is glazed with hardened jelly.

Beside the table is a pile of newspapers that Lola has strewn around and in the corner the tupperware cupboard has exploded onto the floor. The kids' drawing table is awash in a sea of scribble-covered papers and crayons and Peppa Pig stickers are dotted across the floorboards. DHs work desk is a towering pile of text books, blank CDs and computer hardware.

The laundry floor generally has a fine coating of sand and an overflowing basket of washing. The bathroom cupboard is often spilling flannels, bandaids and hairbands from every drawer and dog fur tumbleweeds drift merrily down the hall pursued by sultanas and lego bricks.

It never stays that way for long though, if I left it like this for more than a day we would only be able to leave the house through the windows.

Lolly Buffet Jars

I am going to lightly tread into some interior designing (well that is the fancy word for it). I am going to start assisting people imagine, design and create their children's bedrooms. Pre birth nursery, evolving from baby to children's room or straight into grown up kids room, I am going to tackle the lot.
I recently made-over my kid's rooms and had a blast doing it (see below).
As part of my service I will provide idea consultation, inspiration boards to illustrate images and also provide places to purchase the suggested products and paint selections.

We did a big clean up and cull of the kids toys over the weekend and got some kind of organisation back.

I made up some little labels for all of the buckets to try and encourage the kids to put the toys back in the right spot- we wait with bated breath.

Well the christmas tree is being taken down as we speak and the presents are slowly finding new places to live in the house. Stomaches are still bloated and the empties have not yet been taken to the recycling place yet. But what a great few days Christmas was this year. I did up a Christmas bauble template today to print off and decorate. I printed them up on green and red paper and also cut out some old Christmas paper for the kids to glue on the baubles.

I hole-punched some holes and tied them up with some wool and hung them on the windows (in the absense of a tree at the moment).

The kids had a blast and the house is slowly getting into the Christmas spirit.

My love of printer's drawers

I used to have a printer's drawer growing up, that I would fill with little treasures I would collect and buy along the way (maybe this is where my inate ability to hoard pits and pieces to this very day?).
I had lots of compartments filled with all sorts of things from shells from beach walks, to coins we put on railway tracks to get flattened by passing trains, to minature perfume bottles, to thimbles.
I really must dig all of these out one day and put it back up.
Or start another one maybe...

Homemade microwave popcorn!

What a better way to try and keep the peeps inside on stinking hot days like today, than to make our very own mocrowave popcorn!

AND its easy peasy!

1. Put 1/4 cup popcorn in a brown paper bag. Fold top over a few times and tape it.

2. Place in microwave folded side up for 2 to 3 minutes or until there is 5 seconds between pops.

3. ENJOY!

You can eat it healthy and plain, but what fun is there in that?!? I believe it is best served with lashings of icing sugar. Mmmmmm.

Recycling fun- monster style!

We took recycling to a new level today and made monster men out of our little collection.
Ned had a blast instructing where to make slits for the arms and drawing noses, cutting out eyes and then sticking them all on. Lets just say we went through a LOT of sticky tape.
Molly, well, she had a lovely time eating the pom poms.

And the best part of all of this is they all go in the recyclingbin at the end of the day!

A post today from a guest writer- my gorgeous friend Genevieve, on her two beautiful girls Eva and Lola. I just had to post is here when I read it- such beautiful words written only like a mother can about her two precious darlings. Enjoy :)

Sugar and spice and all things nice... that's what little girls are made of.

Oh, and squeals and bruises and mashed banana and promite toast crumbs. It's been about 4 months since last updating our firends and family about the achievements of our lovely young damsels. Lola is 10 months old and has smiles for everyone. She gleefully displays all six and a half teeth to anyone that passes by, waving a pudgy hand holding a sock or half eaten cracker in their direction. She's not just a happy baby - she literally exudes cheer through her rosy, marshmallow-sprung cheeks. If she were a puppy she would be the kind that wags her whole body, not just her tail.

She says "pappou" for puppy, "mama", "dadda", "uh-oh" and "ah-ah" (ie don't touch!) and is a pretty good mimic when it comes to repeating the 'tone' of what we've said. She has been standing up since about 8.5 months and 'cruising' around holding onto things for about a month now. She's very stable and will often let go and stand without holding onto anything so she might very well match Eva's walking milestone (which was at 10.5 months). She's outdone her sister in size at the same age though-weighing in at 12kg and standing 80cm tall she's as big as some 2 year olds! But she's very elegantly proportioned (poddy tummy and all) and we knew both our girls would be statuesque so it's no surprise that they're off the charts at a young age.

Lola's sleeping has only just turned a corner and we have FINALLY been getting some much needed long stretches at night. There were some months where we felt we were all losing our minds due to lack of sleep but thankfully since we have put her into a sleeping bag and handed over the night time settling to Daddy, she has been sleeping beautifully. It certainly makes a nice change not to be making several journeys to the nursery each night and the days seem a whole lot brighter after a good night's sleep.

Eva is a blur of activity. She can manage to fall down in a tangle of arms and legs from a standing-still position and her mouth only just keeps up with the constant stream of narrative and song that have become the non-stop soundtrack to our days. Conversations with Eva are always interesting "Mummy I like bananas...[pause]...but I don't like sharks", often amusing, "I'm a doctor, let me check you with my telescope" and sometimes awkward, "Daddy, look at that man's big...tummy" (in the change rooms after swimming class).

She is starting to enjoy the benefits of having a little sister, treating her a bit like a playful puppy at times. She sits at one end of the hallway calling out 'come on Lola!, come here! good girl!' as Lola crab crawls towards her at top speed. Lola submits herself to Eva's dressing up games with mostly good humour and enthusiastically joins in tea parties if she is allowed to chew on the cups and saucers. However things tend to go a bit pear shaped when baby interrupts budding artist and commences to tear up and eat her latest masterpieces.

While it's heartwarming to see the tender moments together, such as Eva blowing raspberries on Lola's tummy or Lola tackle-cuddling Eva, we know how quickly giggles can turn to tears. After one too many squashes, pushes and snatches we often warn big sister that little sister will likely get her own back one day. That might not be too far off after witnessing Lola push Eva flat on her bottom this afternoon. Eva laughed. You can't help but admire such resilience and we hope to always be able to applaud our girls for both their strength and humour.

Little Ladybird Party

What a beautiful idea for a little one's birthday party. Ladybirds are cute at the best of time, but wen applied to all things party, they make for a beautiful theme.

With the ladybird cake and the flower choc mousse pots (which I might steal for Ned's party) they food looks great, coupled with gorgeous bug nets to catch little ladybird chocolates- what fun for all.

All topped off with ladybird pencil cases for the party favours. What a treat.

Potato-stamping!

Bit of a spin on the traditional potato-stamping, where I used fabric paint and teatowels for this eapsy peasy project, and boy was it fun!

I shaped the potatoes into star, flower and heart shapes, and used three different colours of fabric paint (just bought from Spotlight).

Covered the table in paper and stood back. I was plesantly suprised by how non-messy it was, but old clothes were the order of the sfternoon with it being fabric paint lol.

So I have scored some beautifully hand-decorated teatowels which Ned is very proud of. So proud, in fact, he said that Brodie could take them to football and "hang them on the fence". Don't know where that came from, but I thought it was a lovely gesture!

Needless to say the afternoon ended up wiht finger painting, shich quickly turned into hand painting, which rapidly decended into "ok kids its time to pack up" lol

POTATO STAMPING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Clean the potatoes first. Wash and towel dry.

2. Cut the potato in half and carve out the shape at the bottom (I used cookie cutters as a guide, pushing them into the flesh and then cutting away the excess potato around the edge).

3. Prepare different colors of fabric paint on shallow containers (I used small plastic plates).

4. Dip a potato stamp on paint, making sure that the bottom is evenly-coated with paint.

5. Press the stamp firmly onto the paper or fabric.

VOILA!

How gorgeous AND practical are these...

...recycled craft jars!

The perfect use for all of the empty jam jars I have been collecting and just waiting to use! And with the kids getting more and more into the craft activities I really want to start collecting bits and pieces to use.

They seem easy enough to make - I think if you just paint the lids with a regular wall paint (just getting a small sample pot would be ample), then use masking tape to create the rectangle for the label, and then paint 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint, that would work a treat!

I am sure the kids will love helping to decorate the labels, and learning all about the things we are putting in the jars, not to mention using all the goodies for their next craft session!

What a hit these were! All four of us finished off ur serves- served them with mash potato and green salad. Yummo.

STUFFED PEPPERS
For 4-6 servings

INGREDIENTS:
1 Tbs oil
6 red or green peppers/capsicums
diced brown onions
2 crushed garlic cloves
500 g beef mincee
½ cup long grain rice
1 tsp dried thyme
1 teaspoon cummin
pepper and salt to taste
400g can crushed tomatoes
½ cup greated cheese
½ cup stock

Turn slow cokker on to high to preheat, and coat with non-stick spray.

Heat in a pan the oil and add the garlic and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is soft.
Break the mince into small pieces and add to the pan. Continue to cook, stirring frequently until the mince is lightly browned.
Add the rice, herbs, salt and pepper and stir to combine. Stir in the tomatoes. Allow the mixture to return to the boil, then remove from heat.
Prepare the peppers by removing a thin slice from the bottom (don't cut too far up or the filling will fall through the bottom), so the peppers will stand unsupported. Cut around the stem at the top, making an opening 4-5 cm across, pull out the core and seeds, and remove as much of the whiteish part as possible.
Spoon the filling mixture into the peppers and top each with a little grated cheese. Arrange them around the edge of the bowl so one side of each pepper is against the side of the bowl. Carefully pour the stock into the middle of the bowl.
Put on the lid and cook on high for around 4 hours.
And for tonight- beef curry a-la slowcooker style- stay tuned!

New prints- all framed up!

These beautiful hand made artworks are all framed up now and ready for Sunday! These photos do not do them justice- they are simply superb.

They are all made from patterned textured paper which is then machine stitched onto a background card. Reused buttons are used for the eyes, which are sewn on by hand. Each of the pieces are made individually and no two are ever the same.

They are finished off in a beautiful simple white frame (23 x 20cm) ready to stand up or hang on your wall.

All of the prints, except for the set of Owls which are larger at 21 x 26cm (when framed are 26 x 31cm), measure 10.5 x 15cm, and when in the frame measure 28 x 25cm.

Busy busy busy

One week out from the Mega-Ware Party and its full steam ahead at LSM Central (AKA our dining table). I think we will be having TV dinners on our laps all this week.

Today I have been framing the prints, making the ribbon and clip boxes, cutting out all of the gift tags, putting together our showbag goodies (lovely Rituelle soap on LSM postcard SHHH!!!) and generally getting very excited for next Sunday!

Molly and I trapsed through some lovely vintage shops this morning looking for some display pieces to spruce up the table and help display all of our lovely new products. I hope it ill all look beautiful.

Here are a few sneak peaks of today's activities...

This beautiful series of hand made artwork are beautiful paper sewn onto cars with bitton accesnt. They series includes birds, rabbits, whales and owls, and comein regular and large sizes. They are all framed in beautiful white frames. There are also some beautiful paper that has been framed as is- lovely accessory for any wall or table!

I am expecting these ribbon and clip boxes to be very popular- they include in the ribbon boxes, 6 ribbons and hair ties, and in the clip boxes, a beautiful feature clip, some ribbons and also some hair ties. They look gorgeous all done up in noodle boxes and clear cube boxes.

Wednesday Craft Activity #1- Basketfull of Goodies

After being inspired from some wonderful on-line friends, I have decided to try to do a weekly craft activity- especially in these winter days that seem to go on forever when you are inside for most of them!
For my first attempt, we made colourful nature-inspired masterpieces, chock full of leves in all shades of autumn brilliance, nuts and berries, flowers and weeds. Copious amounts of weeds.
We packed up the pram and headed to the park with a basket to fill with interesting things we could find.
Back home we pasted them onto paper but found that good 'ol sticky tape did an even better job. It kept them both busy for AGES.
I had done up a sheet for Ned to work with where he had to put the objects in their correct groups of Nuts & Berries, Flowers, Sticks and Leaves. He actually did really well with it. In the beginning. It then however, became a free-for-all and ended up a great big mountain of weeds- with some decorative berries on top for good measure!

A Trip to the Park on a Sunny Afternoon

Monday afternoons are often spent f-a-s-t asleep after Mother's Group, but this particular day, no sleep in the house. Not a wink.
SO we packed up the pram, filled the nappy bay with treats, drinks and the camera, and headed for the park.
It was a beautiful sun-filled June day so where better to be. We also grabbed a basket in preparation for our first Craft Activity- to hopefully be filled with precious finds along the way (keep an eye out for my next entry).
